Ballet Master
His vocation for dance led him to come to Madrid where he joined the Escuela de Luis Fuente to then go on to Compañía Clásica, directed by this master and choreographer. During this period, he completed his studies with Carmen Roche and Lola de Avila.
He qualified in Classical Dance from the Real Conservatorio de Danza in Madrid. He did the 1st and 2nd year of the Cátedra de Alicia Alonso aimed at dance teachers and held at Madrid’s Universidad Complutense. He also did courses in anatomy, psychology and pedagogy applied to danced organised by the I.N.A.E.M.
In 1987 he joined the Compañía Nacional de Danza, which at the time was directed by Maya Plisetskaya. With this company he performed many different roles in ballets like María Estuardo (first artist), La espera, La noche de Valpurgis, Le Fille mal Gardéem (character first artist), El lago de los cisnes (in the role of Von Rothbart), Tema y variaciones (soloist), Raimonda Divertimento, Le Vile (opera sung live by Montserrat Caballé at the Castillo de Perelada), Caín y Abel, etc. He has received classes from prestigious masters including Azari Plisetski, Jorge Esquivel, Egon Madsen, Peter Stam, Lázaro Carreño, Aurora Bosch, Constantin Damianoff and many more, who have reinforced his training both as dancer and teacher.
While being a member of the Compañía Nacional de Danza, in 1994 he appeared as first artist with Víctor Ullate Dance Company, dancing the role of “Hilarion” in the ballet Giselle; with Compañía Flamenco, directed by Ricardo Franco (1997), he danced the role of the gypsy in El amor brujo; and with the Ballet Clásico de Madrid (1999), also as first artist, in Giselle, he performed the role of Albrecht. Between 1997 and 2000 he was guest master in different dance companies.
In 2001, the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Madrid asked him to coordinate the choreographic workshop.
He has dance master of the Ballet Nacional de España since 2003.
