World premiere by the Ballet Nacional de España on 17 December 1999, at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
“On the occasion of the centenary of painter Diego Rivera I’ve created this pas de deux, inspired by his relationship with Frida Kahlo: crazy, unbridled, ghost-riddled love but in short, invincible love...I wish to dedicate this work, from the bottom of my heart, to Aída Gómez because she is the best dancer of the last 20 years”.
