The Groom walks up to La Cancela [The Gate] and sits down on a nearby stone bench. He is overcome by sleep and at that moment his other “self” appears, an abstract character, his antagonist.

At the other side of The Gate, The Bride is in the living room of her house. When The Double walks in the young lady, who is immediately attracted by his personality and mystery, walks slowly backwards, indulging in a fear that gradually gives way in the dance of unknown love.

In the meantime, The Groom wakes up, but he believes to be still asleep as he notices The Bride’s passion as she dances both with him and with The Double, whose presence The Groom ignores, a prototype he does not want or is unable to accept while he clings to what is convenient to him. The Double leaves for a short time as noises coming from outside scare him away and the young woman sees the sleeping Groom and runs towards him. The Double arrives and unsuccessfully tries to stop her. Tension and confusion. Tension and confusion are greater than what The Bride can bear, and she believes to be going mad and dances like a broken doll, although she vigorously rejects The Groom, who is now fully awake.

The Double and The Groom are united again and their alternating faces as they spin round and round show viewers the dichotomy that has caused the psychological drama. When they walk away together and vanish in the shadows, The Bride clings on to the iron bars in desperation. Does she love someone else? Is it the same man? The love she has found in strange circumstances is walking away, perhaps forever.
