Capricho español

World premiere December 16, 2020 at the Oktyabrsky in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Open Dance Festival Gala.

Choreographers

  • Miguel Ángel Corbacho

The dancer and choreographer was inspired by the last two movements of Capricho español, a work composed by Rimsky-Korsakov based on the Spanish melodies that the musician discovered during his travels as an officer in the Russian Navy.

The result is a choreography with great strength, dynamism and complexity that reflects the particular vision of Miguel Ángel Corbacho's stylized dance, highly influenced by flamenco, while respecting the style of group dance that identifies the National Ballet of Spain. .

The fluid interpretation of the main, first and solo dancers of the Company achieves that the complex group movements and the symmetries devised by the choreographer move the spectators due to their vertiginous rhythm and spectacularity.
