Framed by two unreal figures who are seeking for light, life and love, different scenes follow one another in this Basque suite: the pilgrimage to the shrine where maidens go to beg for love, the ringing of the “alcoba”, the partying of the young men on the streets, love conversations, dances -including the characteristic “zortziko”- the nostalgia of girlfriends waiting for their absent boyfriends. The joy of the return expressed by the quick, graceful arin-arin dance, and finally, the great group dance of the people inspired by the choreographic motifs of the fandango.
