World premiere by Ballet Nacional de España on the 17th of December, Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid, Spain).
“Bolera School is the true Spanish ballet and it appeared by means of the codification and derivation of popular rhythms and dances, mainly Andalusian ones, into theatrical dances. Many people have danced and made beautiful choreographies of Bolera, called “Baile de Palillos” (castanets´ dance) as well. Now, with Dorantes´music, I want to contribute my share, from a today´s view, to this style, that has been all over the world since the end of the nineteenth century.”
