World premiere by Ballet Nacional de España on the 16th of December, 1988, Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid, Spain).
Two gypsy sisters, Soleá and Margara, whose husbands are imprisoned, meet a non gypsy handsome man that will seduce Soleá very soon. Her sister, eaten up with jeaulosy, starts to plan her revenge. The story takes place in South Andalusia, at the end of the XIX century.
