Premiered by the Ballet Nacional de España at Madrid’s Teatro de La Zarzuela on 22 March 2012.
In Suite Sevilla, Antonio Najarro brings a new choreography through Spanish Classical Dance blended with music and dance avantgarde trends, in a language that typically rules his personal creative style.
Rafael Riqueni’s score depicts aromas, traditions, longing, and nostalgia. Flamenco guitars meet with other flamenco instruments to describe Andalusian landscapes. It was conceived from longing and nostalgia as it was composed in Madrid.
Suite Sevilla choreography won the Best Dance Show of the Season Award in 2012 at the XXI Premios Teatro De Rojas de Toledo, which is granted by the audience.
