Formation

She studied at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza in Sevilla where she completed her degrees in Spanish Dance and Classical Dance in 2000. She has trained at the Conservatorio de Sevilla, and at different schools in Sevilla including Matilde Coral’s or Manolo Marín’s with teachers like Javier Barón, Merche Esmeralda, Javier Latorre, Mila de Vargas, or Milagros Menjíbar. Master’s in Management and Leadership of Cultural Projects from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.

In the BNE

She joined the company in 2005 under the directorship of Jose Antonio Ruiz and returned in 2012 and was promoted to soloist under Antonio Najarro in 2016.

Career highlights

In 20 years as a professional dancer she has worked in companies like the Compañía Andaluza de Danza (present BFA) directed by Jose Antonio Ruiz (2001-2004), Antonio Najarro Dance Company dancing solo roles in all the shows (2004-2011); Ruben Olmo’s Company in the Belmonte and Pinoccio performances (2007-2009); with Rafeael Amargo in his show Poeta en Nueva York dancing the "muerte y ruina" [death and ruin] solo (2007). She has worked under the directorship of Blanca Li at the Centro Andaluz de Danza completing two seasons of the Lorca cycle at the Jardines del Generalife as well as at the Chaillot in Paris (2007-2009). She was part of the cuadro flamenco [flamenco troupe] of El Corral de la Moreria for three years (2009- 2012); she has worked at José Porcel’s company (2007) and at Dancem directed by Ester Carrasco for more than 10 years (2008-2019). She was the lead in Carlos Saura’s film Iberia along with artists like Antonio Canales, Aida Gómez, Sara Baras, Gerardo Nuñez or Estrella Morente (2005).

Also noteworthy is the fact that Blanca del Rey picked her to dance her emblematic Soleá del Mantón, which the BNE revived in 2015.
