Formation

Started her dance studies at Mariemma dance school where she got a B in the first and second years. She did her third APDE year at Marta de la Vega school getting a B. In 1996 she did the entrance exam for the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza in Madrid, was accepted, and got her diploma. She gained her degree in Spanish Dance from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. In addition, she has done courses, short courses, and masterclasses in dance at the most prestigious schools in Madrid with top specialists in different dance disciplines like Master Pedro Azorín, Mistress Aurora Bosch, Master Granero, and Master Manolete, among others.

Career highlights

While studying at the conservatoire she worked for the choreographic workshop of the Conservatorio de Danza Clásica in Madrid, performing solo roles with choreographies by master Granero and Antonio Najarro.

In 1998 she joined the España Danza company directed by Felipe Sánchez, with choreographies by Alberto Lorca, Mario de la Vega, and María del Sol, taking part at the autumn festival of the Teatro de la Villa in Madrid and Teatro Herodes in Athens (Greece). In 1999 she travelled to Santander and Valladolid with the Ballet Lírico de Madrid in the zarzuela Doña Francisquita choreographed by Alberto Lorca. She also joined Carmen Mota Company and danced at the Scala Meliá Castilla in Madrid, the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, Berlin, Lebanon Casino (Beirut); performed at the Teatro Real de Madrid in the Rodolfo Valentino Awards.

In 2001 she was accepted in El Nuevo Ballet Español to take part in the show Fury across America.

Worth mentioning too are her many collaborations and choreographies for the Ballet Albeniz in Alcalá de Henares.

In 2002 she was with Antonio Najarro Dance Company at Madrid’s choreographic competition as guest artist. And with the same company, on Dance International Day at the Teatro de Bayona with the show Tango Flamenco. She also toured France and did a season at the Teatro de Madrid. She travelled to Turkey to take part at the Turkish “HOLA” magazine anniversary with many different personalities in attendance.

For two years, she worked at the Noche de Fiesta TV programme as a member of its ballet, doing choreographies of modern, classical, contemporary, Spanish and flamenco dance, in addition to accompaniments. She has also worked in TVE’s New Year’s Eve programme.

In August 2003 she joined Joaquín Cortes Company for the show De amor y odio working in major cities like Rome, Milan, Kiev, Moscow (Kremlin Palace), Lisbon, Oporto, Antwerp, and Brussels. She also did a season at the Teatro Lope de Vega with the same show and company. In October 2005 she joined the company of Rafael Aguilar, and travelled to Taiwan to perform the show Carmen, dancing in cities like Taipei, Taichung, etc. She also toured Holland with Carmen Mota Company in the show Fuego.

In March 2006 she travelled to Moscow with Carmen Mota Company to perform Fuego. In April that year, she joined Rubén Olmo Company in the show Belmonte, la danza hecha toreo. She was guest artist at Madrid’s choreographic competition with Rubén Olmo Company. Also, at the Teatro Albeniz and following galas with the show Belmonte, la danza hecha toreo.

In October 2007 she travelled to Monaco with Carmen Mota Company to perform Fuego for four months. In this period, she acted as repetiteur of the company and did several events in Barcelona and Madrid choreographed by Esther Carrasco with her company.

In March 2008 she went to Ceuta with Rubén Olmo Company in the show Pinocchio and joined the company of Antonio Gades Foundation to perform Fuenteovejuna throughout 2008 and 2009. With this company she has also performed in Fuenteovejuna, Carmen and Bodas de sangre, as soloist in the latter. In 2010 she premiered Gades’s Carmen in the title role in France until she joined the Ballet Nacional de España. She also recorded with that company Antonio Gades’s trilogy, which is part of the Spanish Dance repertoire, at the Teatro Real.

In 2009 Marco Flores called her to perform the show De flamencas first put on at the Festival de Córdoba and performed in major festivals including the Festival de Jerez or the Bienal de Sevilla. She has also collaborated as choreographer at the Antonio Gades Foundation and the Fundación Tomillo, with musicians of the national orchestra, to give a dance workshop on Fuenteovejuna to women at risk of social exclusion.

Since September 2012 she has been part of the corps de ballet of the Ballet Nacional de España under the directorship of Antonio Najarro, and has performed many solo and first artist roles in such emblematic works as Medea, Fuenteovejuna, Bolero, etc.

In 2018 she was cast for the revival of Romería de los Cornudos performed at Fundación Juan March with choreography by Antonio Najarro and music by Pitalluga. She was guest artist at the International Dance Day gala held at the Teatro Salón Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares.

Other information

She has taught and given short courses to children of different ages at the schools Puerta de Madrid, Juncal, Antonio Machado, Manuel Azaña, and at the gymnasiums Complutense, En forma, Sotos, all of them in Alcalá de Henares.

She has given classes of sevillanas and flamenco at the Adult school of the Distrito II in Alcalá de Henares and masterclasses during the events held on International Dance Day in Alcalá de Henares.

She has given different courses in classical dance, stylised dance, and Spanish dance at León Rumballet school.

She has also given masterclasses at the Belén Rodríguez School.

She has done different courses for students at Pepe Vento School.

Start dance studies

She started to study at Escuela de Mariemma aged 14.

Awards

Outstanding Dancer Award at the XIX Certamen de Coreografía de Danza Española y Flamenco. First Prize in Spanish Dance at the national competition in Castellón, 2009. Extraordinary Prize for Spanish Dance of the Comunidad de Madrid, 2009. She took part in the XV Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid as choreographer where she presented her own choreography and got through to the final.
