World Premiere by the Taller Estudio del Ballet Nacional de España at the Teatro Gran Vía in Madrid on 26 June 2007.
"Ballet Nacional de España’s Taller Estudio was founded a year ago. We looked forward to having the chance to be able to help young girls and boys to start their professional careers rigorously with eclectic, wide-ranging training in all the styles.
I created Amanecer en el XVIII with them in mind, teaching them a technique and style that is increasingly unusual to see on the stage.
I thought it would be ideal to present it under the auspices of the Ballet Nacional de España, as it should be the example to follow. But I also wanted to prove that they are ready to join any other artistic company.
My best wishes to these youths who are now joining the hard though wonderful world of dance."
