“Despite all the beauty and depth achieved by Maurice Bejart in his version, I believe that the rhythms and aesthetics of flamenco offer a new reading of this piece -perhaps not deeper but more personal- by providing it with the wealth of an atmosphere and feelings that come from the Spanish soul, of which Ravel was a deep, careful, and inspired observer.

In this version, I have used as a support the rhythmic base of the bolero, which is made up of movements and percussion that are basically flamenco, and added melodies full of sensuality and desire that convey the essence of the work in a free, extra-flamenco interpretation which is utterly ruled by the movements of instinct and the soul, in a narcissistic allegory”.
